how i colored superman

well, decided to color the valueless (artistically & monetarily speaking) superman i drew yesterday. so here's some more stage shots.

first thing to do is to bring it into photoshop and create color layers. i created a layer for each basic, flat color, that way, when i add highlights, i don't run into other colors. in my experience, for dark colors, it's best to start with the darkest value and add highlights and for light colors, start with the lightest value and add shadows.

here's a shot without the lines of the final color with highlights and shadows added. weirdness. finally, i overlay the line drawing and.... voila!
