another piece done for the ozcomics weekly draw off.  this one was special as people could bid on pieces this week to benefit Gary Friedrich as he owes marvel money for selling merchandise he doesn't own.  Poor guy is in bad health and poor so this was my contribution.  penciled, inked and colored with colored pencils.

my dream as lived by Harold Lloyd

whilst surfing the webternet yesterday, i came across a list of the 13 most dangerous actors doing their own stunts or whatever it was, and found a feller named Harold Lloyd, who scaled the side of a building for a movie appropriately called "Safety Last (video)".  It was amusing to say the least, the part with the rope was faked, but the movie created an iconic image of him hanging from a clock tower, among others.

anyways, the reason this relates to me, is that, last night i had a dream where i was scaling a building entirely stolen from this movie.  i remember when i started the climb, the building looked about three stories tall, however, the higher up i got, the taller the building was.  my hands started getting tired and i remembered thinking about not being able to reach the top.  i then thought to myself, "if i'm dreaming, i could just let go and fly away."  but as realistic as this felt and as rationally stubborn as my brain was being, i decided not to "chance it."  in real life, the thought would have never crossed my mind.  i ended up not reaching the top or falling, but waking up realizing how close i was to a dreaming lucidly and feeling really disappointed for not jumping.

so, yeah... that's a story.  pencil.

well, this was fun.  it's a little choppy, but, hey, i'm by no means an animator.  should have had shit going by in the background.  or a treadmill.  wouldn't that be funny.  a robot... on a treadmill.  drew each frame on paper side by side and animated it in photoshop.

i'm an iota of embarrassed about this one.  i wanted to do drape something all over someone, but it didn't necessarily have to be a naked lady.  well, i guess we all know who's prancing around in my subconcious.  pencil and a lot of photoshop dusting.

jim lee bats

this weekend, i was flipping through some older issues of the all-star batman and robins.  jim lee draws the series with frank miller writing.  its a good story of what i have with AMAZING art, i think i'm missing the last few issues.  anyways, i came across this face shot of batman and stared and studied it for a good time.  not sure what it was about this particular shot that i really liked, but i looked at it long and hard.  now, two days later, i decided it would be fun to try and recall it as best i could from memory and this is what came out.  not nearly as sweet as its original, but coming close.  i tried finding the original online somewhere to post and see how it compared, but i failed.
