it's ash! the chainsaw weilding, shotgun toting protagonist of the evil dead/army of darkness movies.  totally FRANKED his hair.  not right at all, plus i think the chainsaw was on his right arm...  oh well.

batmen

here's a commission i got PAID for!  was super fun.  this wonderful lady understood her sons love for batman and asked me to draw him and HIS son as 'batmen'.  she says her and her son both love it and it was the best birthday present she'd given him.  quite a compliment considering i went up against 30+ years of presents!

wolverine 3? or 4?

another wolverine.  costumes all fucked.  his left foot gets hidden in his right leg.  bah, not the best.  sorry.

back to the future

this was a quick study-slash-collage i tried for the back to the future franchise.  not bad for a study, but could have used some more spit and shine.  possibly some color too.

supermen

superman! and his imposters!  when superman died, four new supermen arose to try and fill his shoes.  just biding time until supes came back to life, really.  tried something new with this, starting with a blue-hue "paper" (it's digital so...) then adding color on top of that.  gave it a different mood for sure.

star wars: fall of the jedi

here's a mock cover for a new star wars storyline (at least i dont think they've done this yet, but i really dont know).  takes place between the two trilogies and tells the story of how vader hunts down and kills all the jedi.  sprinkled in would be the story of how han solo rescues chewbacca and also boba fetts "revenge" where he finds out he's a clone and returns to camino and destroys and murders all the clones in a fit of rage. 

the entire image was inspired by Benvenuto Cellini's statue of Perseus holding up Medusa's head after slaying her.  a la THIS.

this one was entirely digital, done in photoshop.  my friend let me scan one of his old star wars comics for the logo and placement and the sun was a google image find. 

wolvie speed paint

hey kids!  here's an old school wolverine.  still like this costume more than any other.  anyways, decided to do a speed painting video since i haven't done one in a while.  when i started i just jestered some random poses, not knowing it would turn out to be wolverine.  when i got to the point where i had to decide who i was drawing, i was like, "okay, lets do someone you haven't done before" and that turned into, "fuck it, wolverine it is".  anyways, here's the vid below:

i had some drawing to do today (for work) and wasn't entirely in the mood.  a good way (for me) to combat that was to "warm up" with something i did want to draw.  really quick lines just to get the feel and loosen up ma hand.

labor day of love

 labor day is great.  finally get a chance to just draw.  not for anyone but myself.  here's what happened... 

Spidey and Wolverine.  Fighting over the last beer?  tried some new and different coloring techniques on this one.  nice butt Wolvie!!

A Captain America i did a while back when the movie came out.  finally got around to scanning it, cleaning it up and giving a little color.  still just a quick sketch though.

Hot Rod from the transformers animated movie.  yeah, i watched it recently.  still better than any micheal bay piles of brambley brack.  could probably use some color, yeah?

whilst listening to a few tiny desk concerts, i doodled a bit here and there, this was the one that came out during jim white's set.  it actually doesn't look anything like him, but his essence i guess is there.  or something.  phootooshoop.

havent done anything in a while, so i almost forced this one out.  little rusty.  when i was done the guy looked like a richard, so yeah.  really wanted to practice the "upshot" of a head.  it gets hard where the jaw meets the neck.  anyways...

red headed moonlight

holy hair batman!  ah, yes.  well, i discovered a neat little trick built into apples quicktime software that lets you record the screen and whatever you do on it.  sweet!  had to try it with a drawing using my new tabby (that's what i call her now) so did a super quick, unthoughtout, really pretty generic drawing.  cool thing is though, is that there's no hands in the way, and everything is in focus and lit well for your viewing pleasure.  if you're into that 13-minute-long-watch-someone-draw sorta thing.  check check check it out:
